FAQs

What should I expect at my intake session?

Our first session together is about getting to know each other and building the therapeutic relationship. I will review any questions from your intake paperwork, discuss your symptoms and reasons for seeking therapy. We'll discuss your strengths, support system, self-care activities and ways you are currently coping. Basically, what makes you YOU and how I can help you. Together, we will build a treatment plan to help you achieve those goals and bring you closer to the happiness you deserve.

What if you are not a good fit for me?

The relationship you have with your therapist is an important one. It's crucial that you feel comfortable with your therapist so that sessions help you move forward. If you don't feel I am the right fit for you, I can help you find a therapist that is.

Do you have in-person appointments?

At this point in time, all appointments are held virtually via a HIPAA compliant platform. We recommend a stable internet connection and video capabilities.

Are my sessions confidential?

I work out of my home office and confidentiality is maintained to create a safe space for open and honest communication. There are times where confidentiality must be broken if there is harm or risk to yourself or others. Additional information is in our intake paperwork and discussed at session.

What do we do in sessions?

An ongoing therapy session is a collaborative effort between the therapist and client, with the primary goal of promoting emotional well-being, personal growth, and positive change. Each session is different depending on your story and goals. The client has the opportunity to discuss their concerns, thoughts, emotions, or any challenges they may be facing. I use a variety of techniques to explore your personal experiences and help you gain insight into your relationships, identify patterns, and develop coping strategies. We might set goals for the upcoming week and highlight progress and strengths throughout.
